What happens when you send a job

Floor Sanding and Polishing Brisbane is a referral service. Your enquiry goes to one licensed contractor covering your suburb. They inspect the floor, quote it and invoice you directly.

We don't own machines, hold stock or attend jobs. Everything you agree is agreed with them.

Why the pages read the way they do

Because sanding is irreversible and most people only do it once. Your floor has a finite number of sands in it, and a gouged board can't be un-sanded — it has to be replaced and matched, which is harder than it sounds on forty-year-old hoop pine.

So these pages spend more space on when NOT to sand — recoating instead, waiting for a wet floor to stabilise, checking what's under the carpet before committing — than on selling the job. Getting that right saves more money than any quote comparison.

Licensing, because people assume it's unlicensed

Floor sanding has its own QBCC class in Queensland: Floor finishing and covering (hard sector). Its scope expressly covers preparing, sanding and coating timber floors. The general $3,300 threshold applies on top.

People assume it's unlicensed because it looks like surface work. It isn't, and the register is free to search.

What you won't find here

No reviews, testimonials or before-and-after galleries. We haven't done the work, so any of those would be invented. Ask the contractor for recent local addresses.

No fixed prices. Floors are quoted per square metre after being measured and inspected. The ranges here are indicative so you can tell a fair quote from an optimistic one.
